Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 June 2026. The English version is authoritative; the Chinese translations are provided for convenience — in case of any ambiguity, the English version prevails.
1. Who we are, and your agreement
Guide to Uni (guidetouni.com) is operated by Umami Labs Ltd, a company incorporated in Hong Kong.

By purchasing a guide or using this site you agree to these terms. If you are buying on behalf of a student in your family, "you" includes both the purchaser and the student.
2. The service
We prepare personalised, informational decision-support guides for studying abroad. There are two tiers: the Complete Guide (USD 3,000) and the Bespoke Guide (USD 8,000). Each is a one-time purchase delivered as a private website with one year of access. Delivery typically takes around two weeks from payment; we will tell you if your case will take longer.
3. What we are — and are not
Please read this section carefully. We provide information and analysis to support your decisions. We do not provide guarantees of any kind. Specifically:
- We do not guarantee admission to any university, programme, or school.
- We make no promises about visa outcomes, scholarship results, or future employment.
- We are not a registered migration or visa agent, and nothing in a guide is immigration, legal, financial, or tax advice. For those matters, consult a qualified professional.
- We never submit applications on your behalf. Final decisions — where to apply, what to accept, what to spend — are yours.
4. Accuracy of information
Every figure in your guide — fees, deadlines, requirements, rankings — is sourced and dated as at delivery, and we link the sources so you can verify them yourself. Universities change fees and deadlines without notice, so always confirm critical details against the linked source before acting. The Bespoke Guide includes one refresh of your guide's data within 12 months of delivery.
5. Payment and refunds
Payment is a one-time fee, made through an Airwallex payment link arranged with our team. Work begins after payment is received. Our refund policy is simple and we apply it exactly as written:
- Before research on your guide starts: full refund.
- After research starts but before first delivery: 50% refund.
- After delivery: no refund.
Nothing in this refund policy limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country of residence.
EU and UK consumers — your right to cancel
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory right to cancel a distance purchase within 14 days of buying. Because your guide is a personalised service, you can ask us to begin work during this period. If you expressly ask us to start and we begin research, you accept that your right to cancel may be reduced in proportion to the work already done, and is lost once the guide has been delivered. To cancel, email [email protected] — a model cancellation form is not required; a clear statement is enough. Where these statutory rights and our refund ladder differ, whichever is more favourable to you applies.
Before we begin research during the cancellation period, we ask for your express consent to start. "Delivery" is defined in section 6.
6. Access and accounts
Your guide is available for one year from delivery. By default it is reachable via its link; as the owner you can set it private so that sign-in is required. You may share your guide with family and people helping with your decision. You may not resell it, republish it, or use it commercially — it is for personal and family use.
Delivery timelines begin after payment and after we have received the information we reasonably need from you; if you delay providing information, delivery may be delayed accordingly. "Delivery" means we make your guide available at its private link and notify you by email. The Complete Guide does not include revisions after delivery beyond correcting factual errors we made; the Bespoke Guide includes one data refresh within 12 months (updates to fees, deadlines and similar published figures — not a change of scope or extra programmes). University lists, fees, visa details and scholarship information are informational and must be confirmed against the linked sources before you act. We may pause or suspend access for non-payment, misuse, or where the law requires, and will restore it once resolved. If you share a private link publicly, anyone holding the link may view the guide; you can set it private from your account at any time. We aim to reply to support emails within two business days.
7. Intellectual property
The guide we deliver is licensed to you for personal use as described above. Our research methodology, templates, software, and site design remain the property of Umami Labs Ltd. Documents you give us — your CV, transcripts, anything else — remain yours; we use them only to prepare your guide.
8. Acceptable use
Don't scrape this site, probe or overload our systems, submit false information to the intake quiz at scale, or otherwise abuse the intake system. We may suspend access for misuse, though we'd rather just talk to you first.
9. Sanctions and export control
You may not use or purchase the service if doing so would breach any applicable sanctions, export-control, or similar laws, or if you are located in or ordinarily resident in a territory subject to comprehensive sanctions.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with the service is capped at the amount you paid us, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including lost opportunities, lost income, or decisions made in reliance on the guide. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute that we cannot resolve between us will be submitted to the courts of Hong Kong. We'd ask that you write to us first — most issues can be sorted out by email. If you are a consumer, this governing-law and jurisdiction clause does not limit any mandatory consumer-protection rights, or access to local dispute-resolution, that you have in your country of residence.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Changes do not apply retroactively to guides already purchased. Questions about any of this: [email protected].

指南中的每一项数据——费用、截止日期、要求、排名——均经过来源核实并以交付时为准注明日期，我们会链接相关来源，供您自行核实。大学可能在不另行通知的情况下更改费用和截止日期，因此在采取行动前，请务必对照链接来源确认关键细节。定制指南包含在交付后12个月内对指南数据进行一次更新。
5. 付款与退款
付款为一次性费用，通过我们团队安排的Airwallex付款链接支付。付款收讫后即开始工作。我们的退款政策简单明了，我们将完全按照所述执行：
- 在您的指南研究开始之前：全额退款。
- 在研究开始之后但首次交付之前：退款50%。
- 交付之后：不予退款。
本退款政策中的任何内容均不限制您居住国适用的任何强制性消费者权利。
欧盟及英国消费者——您的取消权
如果您是欧盟或英国的消费者，您有权在购买后14天内取消远程购买，此为法定权利。由于您的指南属于个性化服务，您可以要求我们在此期间开始工作。如果您明确要求我们开始而我们着手研究，您即接受：您的取消权可能按已完成的工作量按比例减少，并在指南交付后丧失。如需取消，请发送电子邮件至[email protected]——无需使用范本取消表格，一份清晰的声明即可。如本法定权利与我们的退款梯度有所不同，则以对您更有利者为准。

6. 访问与账户
您的指南自交付起可访问一年。默认情况下可通过其链接访问；作为所有者，您可将其设为私密，从而需要登录才能查看。您可以与家人及协助您作出决定的人士分享您的指南。您不得转售、再发布或将其用于商业用途——它仅供个人和家庭使用。
交付时间自付款后、且在我们收到合理所需的您方信息后开始计算；如果您延迟提供信息，交付时间可能相应延后。"交付"指我们将您的指南置于其私密链接处供访问，并以电子邮件通知您。完整指南在交付后除更正由我们造成的事实性错误外，不包含任何修订；定制指南包含在12个月内进行一次数据更新（对费用、截止日期及类似已公布数据的更新——而非范围变更或增加项目）。大学名单、费用、签证细节及奖学金信息均属资讯性内容，在您采取行动前必须对照链接来源予以确认。我们可能因未付款、滥用或法律要求而暂停或中止访问，并在问题解决后恢复访问。如果您公开分享私密链接，则任何持有该链接者均可查看指南；您可随时在账户中将其设为私密。我们力求在两个工作日内回复支持电子邮件。
7. 知识产权
我们交付的指南依上文所述许可您作个人使用。我们的研究方法、模板、软件及网站设计仍属Umami Labs Ltd所有。您提供给我们的文件——您的简历、成绩单及其他任何文件——仍属您所有；我们仅将其用于编制您的指南。
8. 可接受使用
请勿抓取本网站、探测或使我们的系统过载、大规模向意向问卷提交虚假信息，或以其他方式滥用意向系统。我们可能因滥用而暂停访问，但我们更愿意先与您沟通。
9. 制裁与出口管制
如果使用或购买本服务会违反任何适用的制裁、出口管制或类似法律，或如果您身处或惯常居住于受全面制裁的地区，您不得使用或购买本服务。
10. 责任限制
在法律允许的最大范围内，我们就本服务对您承担的总责任以您向我们支付的金额为上限，且我们不对间接或后果性损失承担责任——包括丧失的机会、损失的收入，或因信赖指南而作出的决定。本条款中的任何内容均不排除依法不可排除的责任。
11. 管辖法律与争议
本条款受香港特别行政区法律管辖。我们之间无法解决的任何争议，将提交香港法院处理。我们恳请您先与我们联系——大多数问题都可以通过电子邮件解决。如果您是消费者，本管辖法律及司法管辖条款不限制您居住国享有的任何强制性消费者保护权利或当地争议解决途径。
12. 本条款的变更
如果我们变更本条款，我们将在此处发布更新版本，并标注新的"最后更新"日期。变更不会追溯适用于已购买的指南。有关上述任何事项的疑问：[email protected]。
